I wanted an ‘always on’ clockface which would show the time permanently if I toggled it on. Are there any?

There are some clockfaces "always on", for exemple, FINE CLOCK. In this one, you can setup it directly from the watch.
You can look for always on clockfaces from the app typing "always on"

always on is definitely NOT always on.....very irritating if you are doing plank or any timed activity with 2 hands....

not sure if mine is defective but turning my wrist doesn't turn it on....I need to tap it 2 or 3 times to 'wake' it up....this doesn't work for me....I am going to miss my work out buddies.....

Hi @Thunderbolt99 Make sure you have "Screen Wake" enabled. You can learn more in the manual HERE on page 20.
Hope that helps.

True "always on" clock faces are determined by the face developer. You cannot download a random clock face to expect that it will have this functionality enabled.
If you search clock faces for keywords such as "ambient" or "always" you will find a limited number of faces. I wish there was an easier way to identify them in the search.
Once you find a face that specifically enabled "always on" in their clock face code, you will most likely have to enable the option in the face settings.
I have downloaded several of these faces and they are truly "always on" without any watch settings. Unfortunately, they chew up battery life at a quick pace. Some of the developers have enabled brightness options to reduce battery consumption while the face is "on."
Hope this helps.

Ed, you did not follow Marci's direction. Please reread page 20 (starting with the bottom of page 19) which has a clear description of how to activate Screen Wake with pictures.
Secondly, the place you found an "Always On" setting applies only to the time when a specific exercise is in progress. At all other times, the Setting reverts to either Auto or Manual.

Thanks. Seems my screen doesn't quite match the one in the manual though I
try to keep my Versa updated.
Bob, as Page 19-20 of the Manual points out, there are several possible screens after you hold the left button for a long push. The picture is just the one in question. If you have a Versa, you have that screen.

Ed, you do NOT swipe left, that action gets you the Apps pages. Please. please, read the manual reference starting at the bottom of page 19. I can assure you, sir, the page is there if you start with a long push of the left button and THEN swipe left OR right as required..

It depends on the clock face you chose. I found an emergency services clock face so it will stay on

There is a clock face called Medical Professional that has a screen lock. You just tap the screen to lock it on and tap again to unlock
