I bought a Versa 2 and was able to receive text messages, but could only "open" and "clear" them. I did not have the option to reply either by quick text or using voice text. After calling customer support 3 times and troubleshooting with them, it still would not work and give me the additional buttons. So, thinking that my new phone must be too new for the Versa 2, I swapped it for the Versa 3. Unfortunately, I am still having the exact same issue. I can see the text messages, but can still only "open" and "clear" them. I cannot respond in any capacity from my watch. My phone is an Android and it is a REVVL V + 5G. Please help!

Thanks @Guy_ for offering this as a solution. Unfortunately, it was already set this way and it did not fix the issue! Any other ideas?

@courtmhernandez- thanks, just in case try restarting both watch and phone and sync, though it should take immediate effect, it did when I tested it.
In a new phone, there may be some other places that need attention, such as when the screen is locked. Try with the Fitbit App showing.
When you pull down in the Fitbit App and click on the battery and then Notifications, do you have Messages as the text messages default app?

@Guy_ I restarted both phone and watch just now just in case. I have my notification set up to still show up when the screen is locked and I have messages as the text message default app in the Fitbit app.

I have a Versa 3. I was having the same issue. Took me more than a month to get them to send me a new device. I got it yesterday. It still doesn’t work. I called customer support twice yesterday and they offered the same troubleshooting tips as every other call. The devices simply doesn’t work well when it comes to messages.

At the end of my fourth call with Fitbit yesterday, they told me that my versa 3 wasn't compatible with my phone. Even though it runs on Android 11, and the messaging functions are supposed to work perfectly Android 10 and higher. The customer service rep said all of the features only work with Samsung phones all the time. Which sucks, because I love my Versa and just really wish Fitbit would push out an update so more users could enjoy the features they promote.
