Link Fitbit to Versa message

Ever since the new update, my Versa has not worked correctly.  I have tried every way suggested in forums, and by the Help suggestions.  My Dashboard often does not record sleep, nor update the hourly Step tracker.  I often get the message to Link my Fitbit to Versa.  The biggest problem is that the Versa Dashboard indicates "it can't find device", even when sitting next to Android Smartphone. The new update is not good...and it is reflected in many of the reviews of the app. Not happy.  I have had my Versa since May 7, 2018.  I have relied on it since that time.  My thoughts now are that I'm going back to my Movado and Nixon watches. I also was thinking of upgrading to Versa 2, but now deeply dismayed and discouraged, and will probably pass.

Is your Fitbit app on Ver 3.5?

Yes, I think that the update that was applied to the app is the culprit of my issues.
