Lost Steps After Syncing Around Midnight

I started a workout with 7,700 steps. When I finished my Versa showed 16,000 steps. When I to went to sync my tracker around midnight the app only showed the 7,700 steps I started with. I logged onto my account on my computer and the steps are missing there as well. Why am I missing so many steps and how do I get those missing steps back??

@KelleyJean are you updated to the recent version of Fitbit mobile app? Had a few posters here with stats missing that got them back after the update. This might be simply a sync hiccup. Please keep an eye on your stats for the next few days and report back.

 

ETA: You can also try rebooting your tracker by pressing and holding the left and bottom right buttons until Fitbit logo appears. Good luck and welcome to the forum!

I am all up to date with my app and I did try rebooting my tracker. My steps are still missing. 😞

 

This same issue happened back when I first got my Versa. I figured it was a bug in the software since the Versa was so new. 

 

I’m just curious if it has anything to do with syncing at midnight. Both times this happened it was around midnight. 

 

I do do not plan to sync at midnight again!

@KelleyJean just to confirm, the stats are missing from your Dashboard on Fitbit.com as well? Nevertheless, my advice would be to keep All-day Sync (open Fitbit app, tap on Versa icon and scroll down) ON. Please let me know if this happens again, near midnight or not. Thx!

That is correct @Marrrmaduke! The steps are missing from FitBit.com as well. The crazy thing...on the app it shows my exercise activity. It just didn’t give me any steps for the activity. I’m at a loss!

This also happened to me.  Earned 20k steps between 8:00pm-12:00am at midnight I synced app and lost them all.  I’m back down to 13k and there’s a big blank spot there.  This is  incredibly discouraging as I am in a competition with my brother.  Dashboard as well as challenge.
