I finally got my versa to notify me when I get a message+ from my Galaxy 7 (verizon carrier) but I can not see the contents of the message. All I see is that I have a message and I have auto reply options but no message co tent. Any suggestions?

@Flutejammer Check your phone settings. I would guess that there is something not enabled that needs to be - probably 'show on lock screen' which needs to be enabled on Samsungs.

I checked my settings and made the changes you suggested but all I get is a
notification that I have a message but can not view the content. I can
reply, archive, mark as read, open on my phone and clear but without
knowing what the message is I really can't chose any of these.

I use message+ and can't get any text notifications at all on my versa. I've only had it for 5 days and I was getting notifications up until today

It took a lot of messing around with my phone and versa to get text
notifications to show up at all. I wish someone form Fitbit would post what
has to be turned on and off on phones and the watch to get things working.
Fitbit help got me started in a chat . The problem, unlike apple watches
and phones Fitbit was not designed to be phone specific.

Thanks to the Fitbit community and some assistance from the Fitbit Help Chat line I have managed to get my Versa communicating with my Galaxy S7 Verizon phone to send me Notifications I can read and respond to including Gmail, Google Calendar and Message+. These settings also made it possible to see text message content on my Versa with Galaxy S7 phone using Verizon Message+ App. You may have a different Android phone and Carrier but perhaps this will help you as well if you can find similar settings on your phone with your carrier. Let me know if this helps you.

General Settings on the Phone

  1. Go to “Settings” (cog wheel icon on the upper right) and select “Notifications”
    1. On “App Notifications” scroll down to “Message+” App and make sure the slider button is On
    2. On “Lock Screen Settings” scroll down to “Lock Screen and Always on Display” option and turn on:
      1. “Always on Display”
      2. “Notifications”
    3. Open the “Message+” App, and click on the “Menu” (three lines on left side of the word “Conversations”
      1. Scroll down to “Settings” and select “Notifications”. Turn on the following options:
        1. Notifications
        2. Privacy Settings (this will allow you to see a preview of received messages on the status bar, lock screen and your Versa watch). This is a really important step to see the content of Message+ notifications on your Versa.

Settings on the Fitbit App on Your Phone

  1. Open the Menu button (upper right hand corner green box with lines and a circle in it)
    1. Scroll to “Devices” and open the “Versa icon” (single click).
  2. Scroll Down to “General” option and single tap to open “Notifications”. From there turn on “Calls” by sliding button to the right. Also check the following:
    1. “Text Messages” = Message+
    2. “Calendar Events” = Enable or disable if you use the Calendar option with Fitbit. I use Google calendar and I leave this disabled and seem to get calendar notices just fine.
    3. “Emails” = Gmail or whomever you mail carrier is. I use Gmail which seems to work well with the Versa
    4. “App Notifications” = Open by single click and make sure “Message+” is selected or it shown as the default text message app
    5. “Quick Replies” = You can customize what the replies are or just use the defaults
    6. Scroll down to “Vibrations Settings” = I use “Always Vibrate” so I know a message has arrived on my watch
  3. Return to the “General” option screen (use back arrow on Notifications screen) and scroll down and select “Always Connected” and turn it on, which improves the reliability of the Versa to sync, receive notifications and enhance Bluetooth connectivity
  • While in the “General” option scroll down to “Keep-Alive Widget” and turn it on, which is also supposed to improve communications between the phone and watch.
