Music Control issues on Versa 2

I finally got my Versa 2 correctly paired to my phone in order to use music controls on the watch itself. When I start playing music on my phone in Google Play Music, it (may or may not) show the artist/song info, but it also won't allow me to skip the song. The "skip" buttons turn the volume of the music up and down. And so do the "+" and "-" volume buttons on the watch. I'm completely unable to skip to the next song on the watch. Anyone else have this issue?

Hi there @mary.walden, welcome to the Community Forums. I'm sorry for the late response. Thanks for the details provided about the issue you're experiencing with the Music Control on your Versa 2. 

To control personal music or playlists stored on your Fitbit device, follow the instructions below:

1. Make sure you have Bluetooth headphones or speaker paired to your device. For instructions, see How do I connect Bluetooth audio devices to my Fitbit watch?.
2. On your device, swipe down from the top of the screen, and tap the music controls icon.
3. You may need to change the audio source to your watch if you previously listened to music from a different audio source. Tap the 3 dots, then tap the watch icon. 
4. Play, pause, or tap the arrow icons to skip to the next track or previous track. Press the + and - icons to control the volume.
5. Press the back button to return to the track listing or an app.

I already did all this and still I can't go to the previous song neither can I go to the next song 

When I press the next song button it decreases the volume and increases the volume when I press the previous song button
