I was just given this as a gift to replace my Charge2. I cannot get anything on the clock face except a message telling me to download the app. I have the app and I have unpaired Charge 2. I get a green tick on the clock face but then back to the download message

Hello @JznF it sounds like you need to do the add device through the Fitbit app.
The reason you see the setup message is because the Ionic needs the be setup .
BTW you did not have to remove Charge 2.
Go to the settings in the app - tap on Add Device and follow the prompts.
