Just bought the Versa but quick replies not working for messages and WhatsApp. Only on reading forums do I see this is an issue with iPhone. Nowhere on packaging or advertising is this information given. Is there a way around this or should I return watch as it is one of the features which made me decide on a Versa rather than Apple Watch.

Use quick replies to send customized responses to text messages and messages from select messaging apps with your Fitbit Ionic or Fitbit Versa. This feature is currently available on watches paired to an Android phone running Android 7.0 (Nougat) or later. Watches paired to an iPhone can only respond to Fitbit app notifications, such as messages, cheers, taunts, and friend requests.

What about WhatsApp quick replies? It’s a third party app used most for messaging in South Africa. Brand new to Fitbit and loving it but feeling a bit disappointed now and wondering if I made the right choice.

The same applies to it unfortunately.  Don't blame fitbit though, apple won't allow anyone access to those functions so they have no choice other than apple watch if they want those functions.
