Notification dismissal on Android not working-Versa

Hi,

i have an issue on Android 8.0 Oreo (Galaxy S8) together with the Fitbit Versa.

When i receive a Notification on the watch and dismiss it by swiping it away, the notification disappears on the watch, but stays active on my Smartphone.

And the other way around: if i dismiss notifications on the phone, they disappear there, but i get the exact same notifications again on the Versa watch some minutes later.

So Notification syncing between Versa and Phone is not really working like expected.

Anyone else with this issue or a solution for Notification dismissal trigger from the watch?

Same goes for me!

Had first the pebble and then Android wear which both managed to do handle notifications.

Really sad that the Versa doesn’t support that, hope it is a bug and not an conceptual issue

This is a known feature in that clearing notifications on your Versa (or Ionic) does not clear them from your phone.

yes, but in my eyes this is definetely a BUG and Not a Feature!

It's not a bug. It might not be a feature you like but be it android or ios, it's how it is.

Saw on a video review there is an update coming for Android where there will be options to interact with notifications, whether that means dismissing or replying on the devied, not sure.

Won't be available on iOS as Apple locks out notification interaction, except for the Apple watch of course.

@ghammer1980 that'll be replies, prepared and stored in a list, from which you'll be able to select one response. Android only at launch as ios is pretty locked down and prevents third party access.

For iOS it’s clearly all that’s possible.

But on Android every pebble owner knows that 3rd party smart watches can handle notifications a lot better than what Fitbit is doing at the moment with the Versa..

this is clearly not a limitation from the operating system Android.. this is bad software design by Fitbit.

Let's hope they have some Pebble engineers still kicking around. 😀

I was seriously considering purchasing a Versa to replace my Pebble Time until I read this thread.

What's the point of the 'smart' watch if a notification's status doesn't sync between it and the phone?

Another former pebble owner here and very disappointed with the notification functionality.  I get reminder 15 minutes before a meeting from outlook calendar, and every minute after I'd get another reminder until the meeting!  With Pebble Time, I was able to dismiss the reminder.  This needs to be fixed!

Yet another Pebble owner, awaiting the new firmware and hoping this function is added.  I miss that, being able to do quick replies and my timeline the most since I purchased the versa.  This is the closest watch to replace my Pebble time yet and I like the versa very much.  Hoping it all gets sorted out!
