With the many permissions enabled for data transfer, the disallowing of music transfer must be a deliberate choice. We are allowed to transfer personal photos to clock faces without a computer so why should music be any different? This seems like a corporate decision and I hope a developer creates a free workaround to undo this block.

Stop replying with "it's not possible to transfer them directly from the phone to the watch itself" when we already know it is possible.

Got versa today in Canada for $ 263 and was exited. I spent all afternoon getting it ready because I wanted to use it for biking. Well, it just didn’t work out. Problems with synching just persisted and even after getting rid of all Bluetooth devices on my iPhone it still gave me problems even though the watch and the phone were fully charged and I was next to the wifi router. Next I wanted to transfer my music but lo and behold I needed a computer🙀wtf. Like someone else said I have not used my laptop in ages. I finally gave up and returned the watch to Best Buy. I really liked the looks of it and was genuinely disappointed i couldn’t use it. Saving now for an Apple Watch lol!

I was finally able to transfer music to my Versa, sadly I don’t remember how I did it. I would think Best Buy Geek Squad could help

I find it incredible that, without a PC,  i am unable to transfer any music to my Fitbit Versa. I have no need for a PC as I own an iPhone and iPad, which ably cater for my needs, so purchasing a PC, solely for the purpose of downloading music to my Fitbit, does seem a little extravagant!

Perhaps Fitbit should make this fact widely known so that buyers can make an informed choice before parting with their cash to buy this device, only to discover that it is impossible for them to use this function.without further expense. Not happy!

Agreed, its ridiculous with today's  tech you need a pc to add music. I am forced to you deezer or other not free app to put music on my watch. Are Fitbit developers not smart enough to develop an app that transfers files via blue tooth and an app that plays them?

I have a perfectly usable Chromebook and Samsung phone. I can do everything else in my life without the need for a Windows or Mac computer. In 2019 this is unacceptable. Please fix if you wish to maintain a competitive advantage.

I know I'm resurrecting a dead thread, but do you have a link to Fitbit Connect that's not broken?

I'm using Versa 2, and have the button long press set to open the 'music' app on the watch. Originally, I was trying to use it to control music on my phone- you know, like I could with my Pebble- but the Versa constantly either a) displays the wrong song title, and/or b) loses connection entirely with my phone (by 'loses connection entirely', I mean I have to re-pair the **ahem** thing each time, and that gets old very fast).

Since it constantly loses its connection to my phone, I figure maybe it's not a deal breaker, because I can put music on the watch itself, right?  Well, that long-press gets me to a screen that says 'No local music', and tells me to 'See the Media section of the Fitbit mobile app'.  Okay.  I do that, and get told 'Use the Fitbit software on your computer', and 'Go to fitbit.com/setup' to get the desktop application.  However, that- much like your link- just gives me a 404.

It would be really great if the product did what it says on the tin, but I'm really starting to feel I've been conned by making the purchase.

Oh, I've also tried the 'Fitbit' app from the Windows store as well.  There are no menus, or settings that have anything to do with musuc.  In fact, it doesn't present a settings menu of any kind, so that is just as useless as the runaround I've been getting since my purchase.

I agree...I just got a fitbit versa 2 for my 14th birthday and first I have the issue of not being able to put my bank card on the fitbit because they dont accept the type of bank and now I'm finding it very hard go get personal music onto it because the only laptop i have seems to be very annoying and is deciding to play up alot

How did you end up doing it? I only have an iPad and iPhone to transfer no computer. Thanka

Seeing that the Versa 3 is out and that it doesn't have a local music capability, it seems unlikely that Fitbit is going to do much about fixing this issue.

Hi @RU3RU4 - loading music on Fitbit watches has been disabled. As of end March 2023 no Fitbit watches have the option to load music on the watch.

You will need another brand if you need that.
