Hi, I recently upgraded to the Versa 2 but I’m having real trouble with playing Spotify. I have a premium account, my iPhone 11 and versa are connected and I have paired my versa with both my Beats Wireless 3 and JLab ear buds. It’s also worth noting that I have removed the Bluetooth connection for both pairs of earphones from my phone. I start the Spotify app and it is connected to my phone, I also go to the music icon and select watch output and the headphones I have chosen, however the music continues to play on my phone and will not play through the connected headphones, despite me being able to switch tracks through the watch. I have not found any similar problems through the forum, any ideas??
(I have tried restarting my phone, the watch, reinstalling Spotify on both devices and tried reconnecting the headphones and nothing works)
thank you !!

Hi @SaraMarriott as @JuanFitbit said you have to pair the headphones to your PHONE and NOT the watch as the spotify app on Fitbit is purely a remote for your phone (unlike Garmin where the spotify app allows you to download your playlists directly to the watch and control them from there). Remove the headphones from your watch and ONLY pair them to your phone.

Hi @SaraMarriott , a warm welcome to the Community! I apologize for the delayed response. Thank you for the information provided.
I just want to clarify something, maybe I understood it wrong.
You mentioned that you have a Spotify premium Account and downloaded the app to you watch. So far, you have all the requirements for a successful connection.
Now, you have to had the headphones, either the Beats Wireless 3 or JLab ear buds connected/paired to your phone and not your to you phone, as the music is saved on the phone and not directly to the watch. This also helps that the connection between watch and phone is more stable .
The advantage of using the Spotify app on the watch is that you have access to your playlist and you can control you music on the Spotify, phone app.

Hi thank you for your reply,
all of what you mentioned above is correct, I believe I have done everything necessary for a connection. However, both earphones are already connected to the watch and disconnected from my phone. I start the app on my phone, drag down the screen on the watch and click the music icon, select it to play on the watch and click to connect my headphones (which make a noise to clarify they are connected). I then go into Spotify on the watch and click play but the sound continues to come from my phone never from my headphones. I can even skip tracks through the watch but the sounds still plays through the phone.
hope this makes sense
thanks again

Hi @SaraMarriott , thank you for you answer and confirmation.
With that I could figured everything out. As my previous post, you need to pair/connect the headphones or the ear buds to you phone and not to your watch. As the music is saved into your phone. Your watch app will only help you control the music on the phone app. The benefit of using the watch app instead of the "normal" music control option , is that the Spotify watch app, has access to your playlists. That is why when pushing the play button on the watch you hear the music coming out of your phone
You should connect/pair the headphones to your watch, only if you want to listen music saved in the watch itself. For that you should create your playlists on your Pc and then transfer them into your watch.
Let me know if you have further questions.

YOU HAVE TO MAKE YOUR BLUETOOTH HEADPHONES AND WATCH ARE CONNECTED TO YOUR PHONE!!! Here's a simple way to do it.
Go to the media section on your Fitbit (pull sown top screen twice). Click the music icon and then click the three dots. Click over to the phone. Then hook up your Bluetooth headphones to your phone like you usually would. Then go to spotify on your phone and boom music in your ear and you can control it from your watch
