Poor music quality

The whole reason I bought the versa over another model was because I like the idea of storing music on it. The sound quality is poor making the whole reason I bought this Fitbit over another model useless. I've restarted the Fitbit I've unpaired my earbuds repaired them and it still is awful sound quality skipping and  distorted. Is this a hardware problem or software problem? Do I need to take this back and get a cheaper model or is there some software update that'll fix this.

All music on my Versa is distorted when I listen on Bluetooth earbuds. Pandora and my personal playlists all sound like I'm out of range of an FM radio station. The music drops out, plays too fast, and is generally unlistenable. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have not as I only have one pair. They work fabulously with my phone.

@Noskills Unfortunately, some earbuds are known to be incompatible - some beats or airpods etc. Unfortunately.

@charleyb47 I merged your post with this thread as it deals with the same issue.

Thanks. Is there a list of compatible buds on this site?

@charleyb47 Unfortunately no such list exist as far as I know, but there are many posts commenting what works and what doesn't. So, I would recommend simply searching the forum with the brand names. Generally anything Apple related is problematic (Airpods, Beats etc).

I know this thread is old, but leaving a message in case someone else has the same question.

I can confirm that the headphones have to be compatible with the Fitbit. I have the Versa and the brand new, Bluetooth 5.0 headphones I bought for it sound great connected to my phone and absolutely horrible connected to the Fitbit. I connected a pair of Cowin E7 with Bluetooth 4.0 and the sound is beautiful. I have two pair of earbuds on order, which are 4.1. We will see.

This company has no intentions of fixing this issue.  I have a versa and the sound quality is poor regardless of the headphones and the proximity of the headphones to the watch.  I purchased a Versa 2 anticipating that the company may have actually attempted to honor their commitment to their costumers but it's now 12/27/19 and event the versa 2 has exactly the same sound quality issues as the versa.  There is no way I can recommend this company or any of their products to anyone.
