Problems with Accept/Reject calls & notifications for voicemail

My Versa is paired with my iPhone 7, and lately I have noticed strange behavior.

When I receive a call, the call icons for accept/reject will stay on my Versa screen long after the phone has stopped ringing. Because I've had delayed or missing voicemail notifications, I've been just letting calls ring through without tapping the reject option on my watch. Just now I received a call and let it ring until it stopped. The missed call notification showed up on my iPhone but not on the Versa. Then I checked the phone and saw that I actually had a voicemail, though there was no notification on the phone. When I looked at my Versa, I saw the flashing phone accept/reject call was still on the screen. I never received a notification on either device for a voicemail.

This is very troubling as I am dealing with issues right now where I cannot afford to miss an important call/voicemail. Has anyone else seen similar behavior?

@dianewordsmith It seems like there's a delay in the BT connection. Do you have any other devices paired to your iphone? If yes, remove them from your iPhone bluetooth settings. Also, please reset the BT connection with Versa by doing the following:

  1. Unpair (remove) Versa from your phone's bluetooth settings
  2. Uninstall the Fitbit mobile app
  3. Reboot your phone and install Fitbit mobile app
  4. Reboot your Versa by pressing and holding the left and bottom right buttons until Fitbit logo flashes
  5. Login to Fitbit mobile app. Do not pair in phone's Bluetooth settings
  6. Grant all permissions incl pairing
  7. Make sure Fitbit Notifications are enabled in your phone Settings. If they are switch them off, sync, switch them back ON, and sync again. Please follow steps 1-3 from my post here to properly set up the notifications on your iPhone.
  8. If you have Wifi set up, go to Fitbit mobile app and remove it, then sync your Versa. I noticed that it causes issues for me.
  9. Also, make sure Always Connected and All day sync are enabled.

Thanks for the tips, Marrmaduke. I do not currently have any other BT devices connected to the phone (and didn't during today's testing); however, my phone connects the BT in my car whenever I am driving and on occasion connects to a BT speaker I have at home.

I'll give some of these steps a try, but I balk at All Day Sync. I've had an Alta and now the Versa (for about a year), and I have never enabled All Day Sync. It's too much of a battery on both devices and it has never caused an issue in the past. Also, I don't where to find the Always Connected feature you spoke of. I googled and even found another thread where posters stated they couldn't find it. I was unsuccessful in finding a reference that would guide me to its location and purpose.

@dianewordsmith Always Connected is in the Fitbit mobile app. Tap on the Versa icon and scroll down to the bottom. There you will find Always Connected and Keep Alive Widget. I was not talking about currently connected devices to your phone, but any paired devices. For example, car bluetooth has been known to disrupt the connection with Versa. Try to remove all paired devices for now. Or, try other steps I mentioned first and see if the issue gets resolved. If not, remove the paired devices and see what happens. Good luck!

I believe you are mistaken regarding the Always Connected option. My subsequent research seems to indicate that feature does not appear for iPhone users. I've looked in the settings. It is not there. All Day Sync is there, but no options for Always Connected. I've also never seen the Keep Alive widget you mentioned. Are these features in the Android version of the app?

@dianewordsmith Sorry, I forgot you're on the iphone. There's no Keep Alive widget for the iphone as there's no way of keeping up in the background. I can double check if the Always Connected is available on my iphone. Perhaps you are right. I mainly sync with my Android phone.

ETA: Yes, there's no Always Connected, but in that case it would be good if you kept All-day sync.
