I had a blaze since it came out. For my mothers day gift I asked for the Versa which I am in love with. However currently I can not respond to messages. I am able to create custom responses in my app response tab. So I'm wondering if there is something else I need to turn on??
Best AnswerWhen I open that is circled in your pic I can change the preset answers to whatever I want them to say and they save. But I am unable to respond to any notifications that come to my watch it self.
Best AnswerFirst question was for the picture to make sure you are up to date, which you are. Second question is important, which you didn't answer. What texting app? Also, what phone if you're using default texting/messaging app? Thanks.
Best AnswerLG's messaging limitations could be the issue. Switch to Textra as your default messaging app; it'll solve your problems. It's the best free Android texting application in the Play Store. Myself and many big Android users use it with zero issues.
Best AnswerI downloaded it.. Made it my default and they sync my versa.. But still no auto response available.. Idk what I'm doing wrong. I'm sure I'm missing something
Best AnswerI'm encountering the same issue. Using the Galaxy Note 5 with Android 5.1.1. I've tried with both the Samsung Messaging app as well as Textra. In Textra I've also gone to Settings > Customize Notifications > Define Notification Actions and setup the Heads-up Buttons but they never show up ... only "Clear" will appear. Interestingly, when I do clear the message on the Versa it also clears it on the phone in Textra. That does not happen with Samsung Messenger. I wonder if there is possibly something missing in the messaging protocol with Android 5.1.1?

Best Answer@jhendry, make sure you define notification buttons as explained here: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Versa/Quick-replies-not-available-with-Textra/m-p/2705249#M18270
My apologies for not explaining in detail for Textra.
@vtan, I agree with you. I think it might be an Android 5.1.1 limitation. I'm on a Note 8 with 7.1.1. Did you do Android native buttons or Textra's buttons? Maybe try both? 'Quick Reply' and 'Open App' in my testing did nothing, so I left the third button empty. 'Clear' on the watch shows up there anyway.
Best Answer@razerf15 I did indeed try setting the buttons for both Android and Textra with no "Quick Reply" ever being available on the watch. However, some of the actions did work. With Textra 3.45 I have the following notification actions available: Not Used, Mark Read, Leave Unread, Quick Reply, Open App, Delete, and Call. I tested each and they all work as expected except for "Quick Reply" which does not show up on the watch as previously stated and "Call" which does show up as a button but gives me the message "You can't call me yet, sorry." on the phone. This adds weight to my suspicion that Android 5.1.1 is not as fully featured as later versions in terms of messaging. I'll continue researching but will soon need to decide whether I keep the Versa or return it.
Best Answer@vtan, Quick Reply did nothing for me as well. 7.1.1 has its own Android in-line reply as noted in my settings above and this allows me to reply. Must be the OS limitation.
Edit: @vtan, try this: https://www.google.com/amp/s/forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-quickreply-reply-notifi...
Best Answer@razerf15 Thanks for the suggestion. The quickreply app allows for an additional 4 actions: QuickReply, DirectReply, Mark as read, and Direct actions. Testing each action the only one that did anything was "DirectReply". It put a "Reply" button on my watch when selected would open a reply dialogue box and the onscreen keyboard on my phone.
It does say in the quickreply app settings that "Selected actions will be shown in the notification (if available)." so I'm guessing they're just not available.
