Really old Notifications

My earliest notification is May 28,2017 - which is considerably older than 30 days ago.

 

My newest notification is Jun 18, 2018 - also considerably older than 30 days ago.

 

What is this feature supposed to accomplish? Obviously it is giving me non-relevant information.

 

How do I clear this and how can I see notifications that are less than two years old?
