When I press the left side button it shows Alexa and does not shutdown. How do I get my Versa to restart

To add to @MarioSFitbit 's correct instructions, I expect you just didn't hold in button long enough.  Short button press may take you to Alexa as you say, but instructions pointed to by @MarioSFitbit  say to hold in for 10 seconds (at least) until see Fitbit logo.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
