Ya I guess the pace (and distance) are not completely accurate but if you are not really particular about this then it does not really matter in the end. Myself I am at the point where i am just running for fitness and enjoyment
If it's only 20cm
20 cm for every 10 000 strives is 2000cm. There are 10 000 cm in 1 km that means if it's off by 20 cm for 10 000 strides. It means it's only a super super small amount off not even a full km
Best Answer20cm EVERY step, so in a 20,000 step run I am missing 4km. Not an insignificant distance.

@Nicolemarie2423 your calculation is definitely not accurate, 20 cm less of error per stride is a huge error, between 20 to 25%. So @Boost01 is right.
However if you manually adjust your stride to match your exact stride the error can be strongly minimized.
For example my wife uses a Versa and adjusted the stride manually after a run using the smartphone GPS for comparison. She calculated the average stride as Distance (measured by the smartphone) divided by number of steps (measured by Versa).
Last Sunday we went together for a run and my Ionic (with GPS) measured 6.4 km while her Versa 6.2.
