Stars on step screen

This is kind of silly but does anyone know what the stars are when you swipe up for your total steps there are seven bars and some have stars on them?

The 7 bars represent the last 7 days result and where there are stars in the box represents that your goal was met that day.

I only had my Vera for a short while. If you don’t make your goal on a particular day (that did have a star ) will the star be removed?

A "particular day" won't have a star in the first place unless the goal is met.
