Step count increases in stationary position

My versa automatically log steps in stationary position. I took off the tracker at night but when I use it in the morning the tracker shows few thousand steps already logged in. Please resolve the issue.

Do you place it near a source of vibration? Like a fan, computer, fridge etc?

No I don't place it near anything like this. It is few feets away from any such equipment.
