Steps not registered properly-Versa

I got my Versa yesterday and after setup it registered 7 steps for the day and after wearing it ALL DAY and walking for probably 85% of my  work day, all I got several times today was the alert saying I got "250 steps left to take in the hour" and still it hasn't registered ANY activity. Did I miss something in the setup or is this a Fitbit glitch?

I would try and set it up again and see if it helps

But do a restart first. At least 3 times
