Steps not syncing to challenges

Hi.  I've doing some of the step challenges with friends. For the past few days, my Versa won't transfer my steps to the challenges I am in. I've turned the Bluetooth off and on, tried shutting both my phone and Fitbit off and no change.

UPDATE:

I should add that I have a Samsung galaxy phone.

I am in the weekend challenge with some friends in CST while I am in MST, while I understand time zones affect the challenge, we are not done with the challenge and my Fitbit will not sync properly. It show in the challenge only 13k steps, while in the dashboard it shows 15k steps. Is this glitch or a time zone issue?

It's great to see you around @Summernum0271.

Thanks for troubleshooting this by yourself. Below are possible reasons for this issue:

1. Your steps have fully synced to our database but you're not viewing the mobile app dashboard in Live Data Mode. (Live data mode would show the word "connected" under your tracker tile).
2. You manually logged an activity. Steps from manually logged activities do not count toward challenges; only steps recorded by your tracker or MobileTrack are counted toward challenges.
3. You used MobileRun to track GPS data with your app. Only steps recorded by a tracker or MobileTrack are counted toward challenges.
4. All challenge participants are not in the same time zone.

I also recommend waiting 15 minutes after syncing your Fitbit data to see if your challenge updates.

Let me know how it goes. Smiley Happy

I'm having the same issue with mine. My steps on the dashboard show accurately but the challenges are well behind. FOr example I am in a workweek hustle and my total steps during the challenge time (accounting for variable time zones) is roughly 19,000 but the challenge shows 14,541. Whilst another challenge I was in for the Daily Showdown, where we all are in the same time zone, 7,767 but my daily total for yesterday was 11,543. I'm confused only because my actual steps are tracking, it's just wrong in the actual challenges. I have the Samsung Galaxy Note9. All apps up to date, I've restarted (both phone and Versa), cleared cache, forced stopped, uninstalled/reinstalled, turned off/on Bluetooth, deleted the Versa from Bluetooth....so basically all the usual things.

Restart your Versa by holding onto left button and right lower button for 5 seconds or longer until fitbit icon shows up on your Versa. This should resolve any sync issues.

I’ve restarted my Fitbit, turned Bluetooth off and on, logged out of the app and still my steps won’t update in the challenge that I’m in. Any ideas?

I had to call fitbit. I found out that I didn't have the most recent
update. Good luck!

Welcome to the Community @Loub22 and @Summernum0271 thanks for the input.

I appreciate all the efforts in trying to fix this challenges issue by yourself. There are some things that might be affecting the functionality of this:

Hi,

All of these are incorrect. I didn’t manually add a thing, all people are in the same Timezone I’ve waited hours and still nothing.

Not sure what’s going on with it

Same thing happening to me today, anyone got any answers?? I’m in the same time zone, and not added anything manually. So frustrating.

Fitbit it absolutely ZERO help on this issue. I emailed back and forth for days. Mine just started working again a few days later on a different challenge. I found that if you start the challenge it works fine, and if you accept a challenge and turn off notifications right away that it will also work.

This just started happening to me as well. I've done all the steps including updating my app, restarting my fitbit, shutting down my fitbit, etc. Is there a solution yet?

Also, strangely my fitbit dashboard shows 1 day of exercise yesterday (which is true) but shows 0 active minutes. How is that even possible?

I am now experiencing this issue and note that the last message from Fitbit was May 30th stating this issue was being investigated.  Any answers yet?

@MarcoGFitbit ... back in May ... you wrote

Is there any update at all on this? I would think that if they've been working towards resolving the issue that long ... there would be something new to report.

I have heard nothing, and challenges still don’t sync if someone in a different time zone starts them.

I'm having the same problem. Challenges seem to stop updating when there are two or three days left. I sync multiple times per day, but the leaderboard in the challenge shows that I have not synced for a few days. Any progress from Fitbit?
