Hi. I used to have the fitbit Alta HR but have recently upgraded to the fitbit versa. I work as an air hostess and do most of my steps when I am at work, however, my steps don’t seem to be tracking properly when I am in the sky. Is this because of a setting meaning I need signal to track my steps? I always used to do a lot of steps on my Alta whereas when I’m in the sky my step count doesn’t seem to change much on my versa!

Hi, this should not happen in the way you described it cause the Versa has an Altimeter which determines your altitude, based on GPS or air pressure. However: "A barometric altimeter measures altitude based on air pressure. It's generally more accurate than altitude measured via GPS." Maybe this might be part of the problem. What you can try to do is restart your Versa 4-6 times in a row by pressing the left and right lower buttons together untill you see the Fitbit logo and release the buttons. See if that "corrects" the altimeter.
BTW, do you have GPS enabled on you phone, it even works when your phone is in Flight Mode.

I'm not sure how will steps wool be counted while walking down the isle of a plane that bounces around.
Also the tread newer will not count steps unless there are at least 5 steps between pauses
