Still can't sync

I recieved a Versa for Christmas, and it will not sync. I am aware there are other threads addressing this issue, but none have helped. I had trouble connecting my phone in the first place, and after a lot of restarting and waiting, I finally got it connected. It stayed connected for a day, then wouldn't sync at all. My device is on the compatible device list, and both the watch and phone have all the latest software updates. I have tried all of the suggested solutions, including turning both the phone and watch on and off about ten times each, turning on and off the bluetooth, forgetting the watch and reconnecting it, deleting and reinstalling the app, and nothing has worked in the slightest. I am very dissapointed in the product, and will return it soon if this issue does not get resolved.

Often my app says sync errors or unable to sync and yet it still did. If the app is displaying the number of steps heart rate etc then it is in fact syncing despite what it is saying. I'm not sure why this happens but it still does seem to sync.

Also try turning off any other bluetooth devices in the area. I have a Bluetooth dongle in my computer that I have to pull out in order for the phone to connect and sometimes I leave my phone in the other room in order to directly connect to the PC

Can you post what phone you are using, perhaps others use the same phone and may know of the issue and how to fix. I also take it you have updated your phones OS and firmware to the latest versions as well.

I hope someone can fix this for you.

Update: It is now syncing steps, although it still says it isn't syncing. It still will not recieve texts and phone calls, which is currently the only thing I want it to do besides read the time. I'm getting very frusturated.

@Gbott If you have any other devices paired with your phone, unpair them, and then try this:

  1. Unpair (remove) Versa from your phone's bluetooth settings
  2. Uninstall the Fitbit mobile app
  3. Reboot your phone and install Fitbit mobile app. Do not pair in phone's Bluetooth settings
  4. Reboot your Versa by pressing and holding the left and bottom right buttons until Fitbit logo flashes
  5. Login to Fitbit mobile app
  6. Grant all permissions and sync
  7. Set up the notifications in the Fitbit mobile app.

The trick here is to not pair in phone Bluetooth settings but rather let the Fitbit mobile app do that.

As per text notifications and calls. Make sure that Preview of the message is enabled - go to your messaging app settings, and enable Preview on the screen. By default, Samsung phones have it disabled, which means message can't be seen on the phone's screen and Versa cannot read it.

Regarding Call Notifications, go to your phone's settings, date and time, and make sure auto-time is turned on. Also, again go to settings on your phone, scroll down to Apps, tap and open Application List. Tap on the three dots in the right top corner, and select Show System Apps. Scroll down through the app list to something like Call Management. This might be called differently on your device. Open it and tap on Notifications. Make sure that Incoming calls are set to Urgent or High.
