These solutions already tried without success!

1. Restarted Versa 2 device

2. Factory reset device

3. Restart / hard restart mobile device (iPhone 11)

4. Delete / reinstall iOS App

(specs background: newest iOS version, newest firmware, newest app version).

Having same issue. Mine started yesterday. Losing steps all day long. Had 10,000 steps by 1 pm yesterday, lost down to 2,500. So frustrating!

I started having the same problem today. The day started normally when I first synced the device on my iPhone 8.  The steps seemed correct, I got my sleep score updated, activity correctly showed 1 of 11 hours.  I tried to sync later and noticed that the steps were low and the app still showed 1 of 11 hours but no bars.  The Versa 2 showed 4 of 11 hours.  The app will update the steps real time (e.g. the app and Versa 2 both show 1521 steps),  However, when the app syncs both the app and the Versa 2 show 1393 steps again.  Floors are correct but Active Minutes are zero. Looking at previous days and the app blinks back and for Active minutes between the actual and zero until it finally displays zero.  All other info on previous days is correct.   I have:

1) Reset Versa 2

2) Shut down Versa 2

3) Disconnected Bluetooth

4) Deleted and reinstalled Fitbit app

5) Factory Reset Versa 2

6) Verified all iOS (13.5.1) and apps (Fitbit 3.23 (964)) are current

I started experiencing steps loss as well all of a sudden on my Ionic, for the past 2 days. Had over 10k steps, but after i sync, steps count dropped to less tyab 500. Sad.... and this Ionic is a replacement that i just received like 2 wks ago!

Update: Last night the my Versa 2 correctly synced with the app.  Of course most of the day had been erased with the factory reset.  However, the Active Minutes on previous days would blink back and forth between the actual and zero a couple of times before settling on zero. This morning is exactly the same as yesterday. I synced and got a reasonable amount of steps, my sleep score, and 1 of 11 hours of activity.  I register several steps that are recognized on the Versa 2 and the app dashboard (without a sync).  As soon as I perform a sync the steps on both the app and the Versa 2 go back to the number from the first sync of the day.  The first and third times that I went back to a previous day on the app, the Floors and Active Minutes blinked between the actual and zero before settling on zero.  The second time, the Floors, Cals, Miles, and Mins would blink between the actual and zero before settling on the values on today's dashboard.  The previous days appear to be correct on the web dashboard.

I'll do nothing and see if it corrects itself later today as it did yesterday.

Did doing the hard reset fix the issue? I'm having the same problem where I have 12000 steps on my watch but on the app it says I have 5000

Nothing I did in my first post accomplished anything.  Other than the time of day, nothing changed in the evening when it appeared to work correctly.  There were no app updates of any kind applied in the time frame of when I did the resets and such and hen it started working correctly.  Also, no app updates of any kind between last night when it was working and this morning when it's back to what was going on yesterday morning.

Here is a sample of a previous day's values blinking between actual and today's values for Floors, Cals, Miles, and Mins.

I'm participating in a StepBet, and my Versa was reading around 9K steps yesterday, which was enough to reach my goal, but the app was only reading around 2.5K steps. It was syncing and saying it was up to date but the step count wasn't accurate. It kicked me out of the StepBet at midnight so I lost real money! I've tried restarting the app, restarting my phone, and updating my phone and Versa. I don't know what else I can do!

I have Versa 1 & iphone 8 and was having same issues of my past days within Fitbit App (Yesterday and previous) flashing the updated floors, miles, cals, and mins then settling back to 0 or very small number/inaccurate numbers. I did the following and somehow watch and app seem to working and accounting for different measures correctly. Not sure if this is the appropriate order of things, but this is the exact order I did them, and things seems to be working now:

  1. Restarted Versa
  2. Removed Versa from my Account ("Remove this Versa"). Then re-added it.
  3. Deleted fitbit app, then re-downloaded fitbit app.
