I have looked at Table of contents on the Versa PDF user manual version 1.5. In the Setup Fitbit Versa contents index there is NOT a section on Set up with your mac. Only windows 10, phone or tablet. There is no dongle like my old fitbit HR. I see you connect via wifi, but how do I connect and sync to my Mac via wifi. The instruction seems not to be there. All seems to be sync via phone.
? Have I lost the ability to sync my new fitbit to my mac ?
Thanks Greg

Thanks, I found i had to take off the old 'HR' dongle for the Versa to connect via bluetooth. I will need to reconnect the dongle if I'm using the old HR. Its good to use the old HR when I'm out in the garden - LOL. Thanks again, Greg

I got my Versa yesterday.I have been trying for hrs to sync it to my MacBook Air. I called Fitbit and technical support told me I couldn't do it. Before I return it, I would ask on the Community.if there Is there any way possible to do it.

@pucedog I can sync my Versa to my MacAir. Not sure why Support would tell you otherwise. Did you install the Fitbit Connect app on your MacAir? It's not in the Apple App store. Follow the link I posted previously in this thread and install the version for Mac. Then, with the bluetooth turned on in your computer, go to the Fitbit app icon on the top toolbar of your Mac screen and select Sync Now. If you open the Dashboard through the same Fitbit Connect icon, you can see everything that is also displayed on your phone.
I have read here that some people report an issue with their Versa being paired to multiple Apple products. I have an Android phone and an Apple computer but no other Apple devices paired with my Versa.
Good Luck.

In your answer , I read "you can see everything that is also displayed on your phone". I don't have an iphone. I have an old flip phone.

@pucedog Haha. Well, I guess you can't see your Fitbit data on your phone then. You'll need to sync fewer times each day when you are able to boot up your laptop and it's connected to the internet. Syncing won't happen without an internet connection and a bluetooth connection between the computer and your Versa.

I finally got it to sync. I had to put it into the charger, which was plugged into my computer. It then synced like magic. I won't have to return it after-all. The customer service rep.was wrong. I went for a walk in the bright sun and I was able to see it perfectly. Thanks for the help.

Hello @KashyapT and @bsudhir6 and a warm welcome toy both. Here are links to the Versa Lite manual and the Versa 2 manual . These devices can only be set up on a compatible smartphone/tablet .
Sorry for any confusion.

It is a shame as my original versa did connect via fitbit connect for about 6 months and then it stopped after a firmware update. The versa showed in my bluetooth and then stopped communicating. Once I deleted from my Mac's bluetooth list it was never discoverable again 😞
Bit strange when you can't connect to your computer where you store your music. The previous allowable connection made syncing without a smart phone/tablet a breeze.

I was having the exact problem. My mac is very old and never recognized my versa 2 through bluetooth but found a way to manage my music on Wi-Fi alone. This is what worked for me:
Hope this helps!

They don't give the option to click the Versa when you click & follow the link you provided.

Hello,
I am trying to assist my senior Mom with her FitBit. We sync it to her MacBook Air. It works for a few days, and the the FitBit icon in the top toolbar goes away, thus not possible to sync. I uninstall the FitBit app, redownload and install, and all works well for a few days, and again the icon goes away. This has repeated 4-5 times. Any solution? Also, I recall reading once about a dongle from FitBit to use with the Mac OS computer. Please help.

It depends on what fitbit. If its a Versa, forget it.. they just don't syc via blue tooth with mac's any more ( ridiculous in this day and age)... but if you have a HR or other 'dongle' using fitbit, then you can connect that way. Otherwise, best via phone app. but if your mum doesn't use a smart phone, thats a problem.
