Syncing (this is a suggestion for Fitbit developers)

I don´t understand why versa 3 syncs only if your phone´s bluetooth and GPS, are on, it should sync if your bluetooth is on or if the smartwatch is connected to Wifi. This would totally save energy of your phone battery.

Hi @Matnaranjo  - in order for the watch to talk to the phone, Bluetooth is required on both.

The Fitbit App requires to know where you are, as do many services, so GPS needs be on during sync.

Using watch WiFi to sync would use a lot of watch battery, that's why Bluetooth is used as it uses only a little.

There is no requirement to sync, so both can be turned off in the phone in between syncs, even though they only use battery sparingly.

With phone Bluetooth on and GPS off you may still get notifications but you won't be able to sync data.

Oh i see, so wifi uses lot of watch battery.

Maybe you can sync using watch wifi and GPS every time the watch memory gets full or almost full, or maybe when the watch is charging. This will automate the process of syncing without depending on the user to sync every X days, being energy efficient too .

I still think there isn´t many features for the watch wifi. You can only download music from deezer(that has 1.39% of the Music streaming marketshare)

and you can´t download music from Spotify (that has 32.77%)
