My husband just bought me this Fitbit Versa smartwatch which so far has been okay. The only problem I have is I can't sync it to my laptop. I've seen troubleshooting tips about using a sync dongle but it didn't come with one and I haven't been able to find one to order. I also have a Flex 2 which came with a dongle but it doesn't work with this smartwatch. I'm not able to load my personal music files to the watch and although I have subscriptions to Pandora and Spotify it requires the premium levels of each to use with the watch. I'm coming to my wits end with this issue. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi @Shann007 , depending on your phone (Android of iPhone), you have to either install a seperate app on your Windows 10 computer of if you have an iPhone you need to do some adjustements, see this article how to do that. Press trackers and watches in order to get info about iPhones or Android. Regards kuzibri

@Shann007 The answer offered by @SunsetRunner is incorrect. The Versa 2 will only sync with compatible Android and iPhones. You cannot sync your Versa 2 with a computer like you did with your Flex 2. This is a change that is new with the Versa 2.

For help with the laptop we will need to know what operating system it runs.

You need to download the Fitbit app to your computer. Once you do, and you hook up your charger to your laptop, you should automatically sync. If it does not do this automatically, open the Fitbit app and find the icon that looks like your Versa 2. Click on it, and it will tell you the last time it synced, and it should sync again shortly. Sometimes this takes a minute or so.

I'm sorry, but the response that says you cannot sync your Versa 2 to a laptop is incorrect. I do it every day on a Windows system. The Versa 2 can be synced to the laptop by using a Fitbit app (appropriate for the operating system) by hooking the charger up to the laptop, inserting the Versa 2 into the charger, and opening the Fitbit app.

@DonnaDog I appreciate the correction. I based my answer on information that was presented by a Fitbit device specialist and this section from a Help article:
Also, the Versa 2 manual doesn't give instructions for set up or sync with Windows 10. I hope your information will help other users who come to this page.

Hi @DonnaDog. Welcome on board! @LZeeW, it's great to see you here.
Thanks for joining this thread and sharing your insights about the syncing process. Let me clarify that as our friend @LZeeW mentioned, the Versa 2 was designed to be set up and synced with a compatible Android or Apple device as described in this help article. If you had a mobile device nearby when checking your details in your computer, that might be the reason why your watch was able to sync and update your details. You can still check your data in the Fitbit app for Windows 10 or on your fitbit.com dashboard after syncing with a mobile device.
If you have another question, let me know.

At the same time music can only be added through a on outer, yet I was able to setup Pandora from the phone.

Hi @Rich_Laue. I hope you're doing well!
Thanks for your great insight and you're right! While you can set up and sync a Versa 2 with a compatible mobile device, you can install the Fitbit Connect app on a computer to store and manage your music. In regards to Pandora, Deezer or Spotify, you'll need to do the process on a mobile phone.
See you around. 😸
