I just got the Versa 2 and all my notifications work EXCEPT the texts. I have done al the troubleshooting and have called support. Anyone have any ideas? Suggestions?

Thanks

Hi @Cn4450 - Welcome to the forums. What did Support tell you?  Did you check to see if your phone is on the list of Supported Devices? If it’s not, that may be the problem.

I have an iPhone 8.

Support just ran through the troubleshooting. They said they were going to escalate the problem. Calls, calendar and Facebook notices come through. I just can’t figure out why the texts are not coming.

I had the same problem and tech support was not very helpful. I'll be returning my Fitbit as they don't really seem to have an answer. I've had a.

Apple watch prior to my Fitbit and I have to admit they're 100 times better.

I have an iPhone. The text notifications won't transfer to the Versa if the conversation is left open in the messaging app on the phone. Have you tried closing the messaging app on the phone and having someone text you to see if you get an alert on the Versa?

Hi, notifications and iPhones are a well known problem with Fitbit. Fitbit is in principle designed to work with Android devices and they are aware of the problems with iPhones. Regards kuzibri

This is incorrect. I’ve never heard this theory and could not find anything to back it up. It has not been true for me. I’ve been using iPhones with my Fitbit devices ever since I purchased my first device in 2009.

Here are some trouble shooting tips. Hopefully they will help.

  • Check your iPhone settings. The iOS need to be updated to version 11 or higher.
  • Also check to see that your Fitbit App is up to date. On my phone, I have Updates set to Automatic. My Fitbit app is currently v3.5
  • On your Versa, press and hold the left button briefly until you see options to toggle Screen Wake and Notifications on/off. Notifications should be on.
  • On your Versa, swipe to the left until you see Settings. Tap it. Swipe up until you see Notifications. Make sure that all the options are set to On.

At this point, power your phone off completely ... wait a few minutes ... then power it back up. Have someone send you a text message to test if you receive it. If this fails, the last thing I can think to try is to open the Fitbit app on your iPhone and remove the Versa. Wait a few minutes then add it back to your account, going thru the whole setup, including wifi and Bluetooth.

My family and friends are on an assortment of iPhones and Androids. My messages all come thru. I keep my calendar on the iPhone’s app. If I set an alarm, it comes thru on my Versa. Hope this helps. Please let us know.

I am new to Fitbit. I bought the Versa 2. I have a Pixel 2XL. I am having issues with getting text messages on my Versa 2. Someone has text me and I get it on the phone but not on Versa 2. What is the required set up on a Versa 2 to get text messages?
