Touchscreen is responding then not responding cycle

I got my Fitbit Versa just 2 days ago and since opening it up and finishing the setup, the touchscreen has been funky but everything else seems to be working great.

I have used the turn off/on method to get the screen to respond as well as factory reset with buttons and after 2-10 times it helps sometimes... problem is that it stops responding after a random amount of time again but no more than an hour. I have spent more time turning it off/on then actually doing anything else.

Should I just return it to where I got it for a different one with hopes new one doesn't have the same issue? ( Seems that a lot of people are having issues with the nonresponsive touchscreen on versa)

Hi, to activate the screen of the Versa, just press the left button for about two secs and you will get the activity screen, where you can set your screen to automatically by moving your wrist. That's one suggestion. After a Factory Reset, you will need to do the setup procedure of your Versa to your Mobile Device all over again, as a FR reset brings your Versa back to the settings that were done in the factory, e.g. acting like a new device.

I would like to clarify that the screen is not responding to touch to get to the menu, select a workout, clear notifications and similar functions related. All other functions such as collecting data, lighting up the screen when the wrist is flicked/turned are working.

Thank you for your input kuzibri but my issue is little different for the solution you provided.

Hi, if you want to have it done by touching the screen, it will take some practice of where to touch the screen to activate it. It's a way of trial and error. And if this way does not work the way you want, try restarting your Versa several (4-5) times in a row by pressing the left and right lower buttons together untill you see the Fitbit logo and release the buttons.

Once again, it is not the way I touch or activate the screen, I have no problems seeing the clock and data. Pressing a button changes the screen but I'm unable to select anything, swiping and moving finger over the screen has no effect on for example clearing the notification, choosing a workout or setting an alarm.

I hope this explains that my problem and your solution are two different things. And I have tried resetting it multiple times, the touchscreen will work for a short period of time before it stops responding again and I have to restart to process again. I have done this restart use for an hour and then restart again over hundred times now.
