Tracking a run

Hi all, I would like to track my run using GPS. I understand you have to carry your phone to do this. Do you have to press start on the Fitbit app to track via GPS? And if so can I see my minutes/km, total distance etc on the watch screen during the run?

I'd like to know too. My Versa just says connecting during my run, but never connects.

Yes, you do need to carry your phone with you and you can press start on your versa watch on the run exercise shortcut. I believe you can see those stats from your Versa but I also have problems with the gps staying connected because my versa is alway “connecting” so I lose a lot of distance while the versa is searching for gps connection constantly. I’m not sure if it’s my phone, phone service, or versa. I’ve synchronized it with my Samsung health app with gps and it was just the same. So maybe it’s my phone service.
