Tracking calories during exercise

Exercise in the pool.  Since there is no choice for water aerobics, I select walking for my noodle exercise.  But if I select workout instead, versa records 3 times the calories for the same workout.  Why?  Which would be more accurate?

Is this with wearing it during workout and starting and stopping workout manually from the exercise app?

I was just wondering if you were manually logging the workout after the fact, causing the calorie difference, but that's not it.
