Are there any benefits to turning off the Versa just to give it a rest or is there no reason to turn it off. Should you turn it off when charging?

I've had my Ionic (same OS as Versa) about 5 months now and it has never been turned off and I don't see doing that anytime in the future. I see no benefit whatever to turning it off except a power saving while it is off.

Do you reboot your phone or PC when it freezez or acts up. I spent 30 years in IT working from networks to run in mild cables to developing and hosting 7 websites to doing database backup and recovery to building machines sent not since 1994 fix and broken laptops and phones and the 1st step as a technician level won is the have the customer reboot the device if the device has the ability to have the power cable and the battery removed you are to remove it and remove all power from meant or just powered off for 10 to 15 seconds. This allows all electricity and cached information that is been stored electronically in the circuit boards to dissipate because if you turned it off and turn it right back on that data doesn't ever really go away that electricity still in the boards and some of that information stays there so you turn it completely off remove any power that you can I know lot of things don't have removal batteries these Dade but you can unplug it powered off leave it off for 1520 seconds a minute turn at Mac gone and it will wipe all the electricity from the circuits that was retained and completely bring it up for ash. It's a step one level won were sponse to any technical device reboot if you've ever all called customer service that's the far thing they're gonna ask you if you call about your DSLR your cable modem they're gonna have your trice the cables make sure their cirque year leave the moaning powered off for 5 minutes or a minute or 2 and have you bring it all backup in a certain order. So it has everything to do with it apparently you're not very technical or that would be common knowledge I've spent 30 years and ITI am now a retired consultant who does consulting for companies that don't have good Tech Support

Not to mention anytime versa doesn't update xbox doesn't update your PC doesn't update or pretty much anything else runs in update guess what it reboot your phone for reason so if they've sin out a patch or I quick fix to your device a reboot is required

I was able to get mine working again without using ODIN and having to install any rom or make any changes. I went into the menu buy holding down the power button until I saw the logo and it would give me 2 options, download or continue. Continue is the first option, I tried that twice. NOTHING.
I rebooted and chose download and it rebooted right in to the device and is working fine. I started trying to fix it last year, But I bought a Versa and put it on my desk Decided to try to fix it again and found the restarting into Dev mode selecting an option and rebooting fixed it.
Thank you to the other post and thread that fixed it. This post does nothing if your device is in a boot loop as mine was.

That was not an accepted response when one has a gear caught in a boot loop. There is a feed that addresses how to hold down the power button and get in that menu to choose continue and download optoins.
That feed was a life saver.
