Versa 2 battery not charging after swimming with it

Hi everyone,

I’m getting a bit frustrated and hoping for some help or suggestions. Two weeks ago, my Charge 4 stopped working after I took a shower. It was about 4 years old, so I figured it was just bad luck and ended up throwing it away.

But now, my Versa 2 has also stopped working — this time after swimming earlier this week. That’s two Fitbit devices gone within two weeks!

After swimming, I put the Versa 2 on the charger and saw a battery icon with an exclamation mark (looked like an empty battery). Tried charging without luck. I left it alone for a couple of days, but now when I try to charge it again, nothing happens at all. No vibration, no lights, nothing.

Both devices are out of warranty, but I’m still hoping there’s a way to revive the Versa 2. Has anyone experienced this before? Is there any way to get it working again?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @JHavermans. I'm sorry to hear about your experience and I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 2 stopped working after swimming earlier this week. Thank you for letting us know that you tried charging without luck and now it doesn't show anything. I'll be happy to assist.

This is definitely not the experience wanted for our customers, and I understand your feelings about this situation.

Could you please confirm that you have followed the steps of the help article: Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging? in order to charge your device's battery.
