Unable to sync or receive Notifications on Versa.

My Versa worked with all the notifications and on Bluetooth and syncing but as of June 28 Bluetooth has not been able to find the Versa and so all notifications stopped as well as syncing to my app.  In going thru all the suggested restarts and deleting other bluetooth devices, it finally synced but bluetooth cannot not find the Versa to link it up.  Please help!

Hello @SusieGberger, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for letting me know the troubleshooting steps you've already tried in hopes to resolve this issue. As you have already restarted your Versa, make sure it's not currently in the Do Not Disturb (DND) mode by pressing down the button on the side for 2 seconds, in here check that Notification have been set to ON. If everything seems to working fine, I would like to suggest you to reset Notifications from the Fitbit app following these steps:

- Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and tap on tracker. Then tap on Forget this Device.

- Force-close the Fitbit app by double tapping the home button on your phone and swiping up the app.

- Open the app again and tap on Account > Your Tracker > Notifications. You will receive the following Pop-up:

- Then, once you tap on Set Up, the app will begin setting up your tracker with the Bluetooth on your phone, which will prompt the next pop-up:

- Tap Pair

- Once you get back to the tracker options, tap on Notifications an enable the ones you'd like to receive.

Additionally, please go to your phone Settings > Notifications > Fitbit and Settings > Notifications > Messages and check that the following is enabled:

  • Allow Notifications
  • Show on Lock Screen
  • Show in History

Additionally, if your Versa is having trouble syncing, please try the following steps in order:

  • Make sure the latest version of the Fitbit app is installed on your phone.
  • The software on your mobile device is up to date. To check, tap Settings > General > Software Update.
  • Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around as they might interfere with the syncing process
  • Check that your Fitbit device's battery isn't critically low.

If your device still won't sync, try these steps:

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
  3. Open the Fitbit app.
  4. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart your phone again.
  5. Open the Fitbit app.
  6. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart it one more time.
  7. If your Fitbit device won't sync after the restart, log in to your Fitbit account on a different phone, tablet, or computer and try to sync.
  8. If your Fitbit device still doesn’t sync, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your mobile device and try to sync.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

I'm having the same problem.  I've tried your fix -- repeatedly.  It works for about 10 minutes, then disconnects.  What gives?  For $200, this thing should work.

So I finally was able to pair my Versa with my iPhone XS after restarting the watch and the phone, deleting and reinstalling the app and resetting the watch multiple times ugh; and I chose to get notifications for phone calls and messages, however, I only get phone call notifications. Text messages don’t get through to the watch. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hello @Katsia2006 thanks for joining the conversation, it's great to have you on board the Fitbit Community.

I appreciate you have let us know you've already tried the troubleshooting steps provided several times and that you're now able to receive call Notifications. At this moment, if you're still unable to receive text Notifications on your Versa, please go to your phone's Settings > Notifications > Messages and check that your screen looks like this:

TextNotifications.png

Make sure you have selected a "sound" other than "None" when receiving text Notifications, this will help you get them in the Versa.

Give these steps a try and let us know the outcome!

I have the same problem. Tried every suggestion multiple times. I never get to the “pair” button. It’s simply unable to connect.

Syncing the step count to the fitbit app does work, but seems to take quite long.

I’m lost, really don’t know how to solve this. I think it’s just broken?

What I did that worked for me was going into bluetooth on your phone, clicking on the versa connection, and doing "Forget this device" after that it just kept the loading wheel next to the versa name and so I turned off my bluetooth, turned it back on and then went into the fitbit app and it prompted me to pair again, I clicked pair and it has worked fine since.

I have the same problem.  All app notifications set up on my IPhone 8 as instructed and when I attempt to set up notifications on my Fitbit app I get the message that a set up is required and when I click on it the wheel turns for a bit and then nothing happens.  Have deleted, restarted etc. multiple times and still nothing.  My daughter got one today and hers set up just fine no problems and I've been messing with mine for 3 months...
