Using Fitbit Versa with Strava

Newbie here! I've searched around but can't find an answer to my query that I understand, so here goes.

I got a Fitbit versa yesterday. First fitbit I've owned.

On the fitbit app on my phone I have linked it to my existing strava account - the app say authorised and on the versa watch I can see the details of my previous runs on the strava app.

All good so far.

Went for my first run today.  I understood I'd had to have my phone with me as I need it for the GPS.

I went into the Exercise -> Run feature on my Versa, verified it had connected, and ran.

Once finished I can see my run and the various splits and the route map in the Exercise section of the Fitbit app on my phone.

But I cant see anything in my strava app related to the run (nothing on my strava phone app or the versa app).  I was under the impression  it would sync into strava too

Can someone advise.  I did not think I needed to have to record my run through the strava app on my phone as well (like i used to do before I got the watch).

Thanks.

Donna

Hello,

Please can somebody assist me in how i track a cycle on strava using my fitbit?

I tried on my previous cycle by selecting exercise - bike. Once i was done i did not know how to get that onto strava... Do i need to to record originally on strava, or do i do it first on fitbit?

I tried youtube and google and there isn't any information so it must clearly be so simple but i don't get it sorry! 🙂

Thank you!

I've managed to solve this from here

https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/216918087-Fitbit-and-Strava?mobile_site=true

I went to the http://strava.fitbit.com/  via the browser on my phone and then linked my strava account and my fitbit account that way.

So I thought I'd already linked the two, but linking through this site seemed to help and I can now see my versa recorded run in my strava app.

Hey Donna,

Thank you so much for all the help.

I had linked both accounts.

Do you record your run on your fitbit, or on the strava app?

This shouldn't be so confusing haha!

I thought I'd linked both accounts, but using the specific web address above it then worked.

I recorded my run through the exercise function on the watch only.

Having done the above, that run is now visible in my strava app on my phone.
