Using the bluetooth music app swimming

My Versa works great with Bluetooth headphones, but as soon as I put my wrist underwater, the music is gone. I had hoped I'd be able to swim with waterproof headphones but this isn't the case. I'm assuming it has something to do with impedance of the water for the Bluetooth, but just wondered if anyone has gotten this to work for this purpose. I swim with my Versa regularly.

Here is a web site that seemingly tries to work around restrictions.

I am not recommending or vouching for anything in there.

Thanks Johnny, I ordered a set of earphones with a few gigs built in. And thanks for the quick and easy explanation. I still like my Versa music on land.
