I am so disappointed that my new Versa wont track my open water swim distance. Does anyone use the walk app to measure swims? Would it show accurate distances??  I guess I should have researched more before purchasing as I bought it for swimming and kayaking😢

Hi @Ottop, welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community. I'm sorry for the late response. I appreciate your feedback after reading your post, that you are not able to track your distance in open water swim.

In this case pace and distance is recorded based on the pool length you configured before starting to swim. Whit an open water swim there is not an specific distance that your Versa could recognized to translate the data in distance.

If you use Walk instead of Swim, note that the data might not be accurate, since Walk exercise is an activity that will try to connect with your phone GPS to provide the distance and pace. In this case since the Versa has no GPS built in, carrying your phone won't be an option in terms of using the GPS.

If this is something in which you're interested, I would like to invite you to visit our Feature Suggestions board and share your suggestion for this can be considered to implement in the future. There is one suggestion that might be of your interest too: Open water swimming for Ionic/Versa

In the meantime the only alternative would be to manually log your swim or kayaking sessions right in your exercise log. For ore details, please review this article: How do I manually log an activity or exercise?

See you later and I hope we can implement this feature in the future.
