Versa 2 FitBit pay CC cannot make default

I'm June I added my CC to Fitbit pay while traveling abroad and it worked fine. Have been using it up till 8/05 this month no issues. Then my CC expiration date changed so I removed the old expiring card and tried to update it. It wouldn't verify and I couldn't figure out how to fix this so I added a second different CC. After realizing I had to call my bank to verify I removed the second CC and verified the original updated CC. Now I cannot get the CC I want to be default. It has a blue button in the wallet saying "set to default on versa 2" but every time I click the button it does nothing. I had this card on my Fitbit and I know it's not the card because I was using it just fine a little over a week ago. I have called customer support more times than I care to and no one can or wants to help, the language barrier is obvious and they all say it is something different. 

I have removed the card three times and readied and received it.

I have factory reset my watch and updated it twice. 

I have deleted the app from my phone and reinstalled it three times. 

I have reset my watch and phone four times. 

I have removed the watch and readied it to the app twice. 

I have no idea what to do. has anyone else encounters this and been able to fix this issue? I'm concerned I may have to switch to Apple Watch which I don't want to do. Fitbit products and service has gone way down hill, and I'm sorely disappointed.
