Am wondering if anyone else is having this issue, I have a brand new Fitbit Versa 2 and am trying to get it to connect to my fitbit app to track my running stats. Whenever I tap on the exercise icon on the watch it just says 'connecting' but then never actually connects. My software is all up to date, the versa has been turned on and off and restarted, I've tried deleting the app and reinstalling it and have tried just about every suggestion I've found so far but nothing is working. The GPS tracking does not seem to connect and doesn't accurately record the run. Am getting a little frustrated now as no matter what I try the watch will not connect to the fitbit app! Any suggestions on how I fix this would be greatly received.

Hello @CarolineS1970 and a warm welcome. Do you have your Location Services for the Fitbit app set to Always or When Using the App? That setting on your phone must be set to Always.

Click on your Fitbit profile pic, scroll to Settings, Advanced Settings, make sure Automatic Location is on.

Hi, I too had this issue.
After some poking around and testing I found on my Android (Pixel 2XL) has a “Battery Optimization” for applications. I disabled the Bluetooth “Not optimized” and now my Bluetooth connection between Versa 2 and my Pixel 2 stay constantly connected.
Here is where it is on my phone;
Setting-> Apps¬ifications-> Advanced-> Special app access-> Battery optimization-> Bluetooth
select “Don’t optimize” and click “Done”.
Setting-> Apps¬ifications-> Advanced-> Special app access-> Battery optimization-> Fitbit
select “Don’t optimize” and click “Done”.
This is based on versions:
Phone Pixel2 XL: “Android 10” w/ security update “July 5 2020”.\
Watch Versa 2: v35.70.8.0
Hope this helps!
