Versa 2 Heart Rate Monitor stopped working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Versa 2 is just over 12 months old and the heart rate monitor no longer works. The sensor on my wrist does not work and I can no longer track my sleep. It was fine until an update in July 2024.

I have tried all the troubleshooting options from similar enquiries and nothing has worked. Even tried a factory reset with no luck.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi there @GabbyT11! Welcome to the Fitbit Community!

Thanks for sharing with us the situation you're having with your Versa 2 not tracking the heart rate anymore and for the steps you already tried.

Can you please verify if you have the setting "heart rate" activated? You can find this setting directly in your Versa 2 right in the Settings app > "Heart Rate".

Try this in order to receive heart rate data again:

- In the settings of your watch, turn off the heart rate.
- Sync the device. Please note that syncing is very important, otherwise the changes will not be applied.
- Restart the watch: press and hold the side button for 10 seconds.
- Sync the device with the Fitbit app.
- Turn the heart rate back on in the settings.
- Sync the device again.

Thank you for your response.

I have tried the restart, switching the monitor on and off, including the
sync and neither the heart rate or sensor will come back on.

Any other suggestions?

Hi there @GabbyT11! Thanks for your reply and your efforts.

You could try a factory reset:

  • Press and hold the Back button for about 8 seconds.
  • When the Fitbit logo disappears:
  • Release the button briefly (less than 2 seconds).
  • Press and hold the button again until you feel a second, longer vibration, indicating that it has initiated the factory reset.
  • You will have to set up your Fitbit as new device: How do I set up my Fitbit device?
  • Check again in the settings of your watch if the heart rate is "ON".
