When I first got my Versa 2 I added my credit card and found it really useful. The card expired so I removed it and tried to add a new one... it failed...
After rebooting the device, reinstalling the app etc etc I still got the same error
The error I get is
Error registering versa 2 with Fitbit pay wallet - 403 forbidden
I contacted support and repeated all the steps but still no joy.
Any ideas would be much appreciated 🙏

I appreciate the information shared and the troubleshooting steps performed regarding the 403 Forbidden Error. I'd recommend you check you have the latest Fitbit Firmware and OS of your mobile device, then restart your device.

Like you suggsted I was advised to remove app from my phone and reinstall.
Despite being sure I had already done it I did it and it worked.
