I'm a huge Fitbit fan and was especially excited to upgrade from the Charge 3 to the Versa 2. Specifically, I was looking forward to leaving the phone and iPod at home and using the Versa 2 to stream personal audio to Bluetooth earbuds. Transferring audio files was fine if a bit slow. Connecting Bluetooth earbuds was easy and painless.
Unfortunately, this is where it starts getting a little sketchy. When I'm out jogging and tracking my activity while simultaneously streaming audio, there are periodic crackles and audio drops. Here are all my non-scientific observations to figure out what the problem is:
- If I hold my wrist across my chest (closer to my earbuds) there are almost never any audio drops.
- If I jog normally with my wrist moving back and forth, there are occasional audio drops.
- If I leave my elbow bent 90 degrees and don't move t much, audio drops are rare.
- If I walk and swing my arms normally, drops happen quite often.
- If I'm not tracking exercise (i.e. just moving around the house listening to audio from the Versa), it does not seem to drop.
- I've tried disabling all non-essential functions (GPS, Fitbit Pay, autopause, auto-tracking, notifications, etc...) with no apparent effect.
- I've tried multiple BT devices (2 different sets of Jabra 65T, a cheap set of TWS earbuds, SkullCandy Hesh 3 over the ear, another set of Audio Technica headphones)
- I've tried rebooting the device every day.
I have started the return process but would prefer to find a fix to the problem. Does anyone have any experience with this? I didn't see any similar posts here in the forum. Thanks in advance!

Quick note: Fitbit customer support indicates this is a known issue with ALL earbuds. They wouldn't even guarantee the Fitbit Flyer earbuds wouldn't suffer from the same problem. They say they're working on a technical solution. Seems like something they should have handled in testing before they released the product.
