I am trying to access the clock faces on the app but when tapping the "today" button, nothing happens

You're probably already on 'Today" screen, noted by tab at bottom of screen.  If so, it won't do anything.  Not to be confused with 'Today' at top if you are on a screen that differentiates today from yesterday, etc.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
