Versa 2 compatibility with S6 Edge Plus

Answers are all over the place.  I recently won a Versa 2 and have been using it with my Android S7.  I liked it so much I bought my wife one.  I can't pair hers with her Android S6 Edge plus, when checking on compatibility a number of answers come up. Some say it's on the compatibility list but there is no list, the link just says it needs to be on android 10.  Mine is working fine and my S7 is on Android 9.  So I called support and they said it would work with Android 8.  Which answer is correct?  I bought the Versa 2 because it was supposed to be able to work with the S6.  I do realize that the S6 is out of date and no longer receiving updates etc.. but I'm not concerned with that.  Is there any way to set this up?

But you didn't tell us what android version wife's S6 Edge plus is.  I just looked up and found 5.1 upgradable to Android 7.  Can you even download Fitbit app on it?  That's often the disqualifier.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Apologies, she's on Android 7 and can download the fitbit app, it just won't pair.  Says the device rejected the pairing.  I think I'm just out of luck with her phone but I've set it up via a PC, she just won't get any of the bells & whistles.
