Versa 2 completely dead

Hi All,

My Fitbit Versa 2 never gave any issues up until the last week. Normally I would get days out of charging it. Then suddenly i was getting less than a day. I woke to it dead on Thursday morning. I tried to charge it but when I checked it, it was completely dead. When i took it from the charger it was also really hot to touch which never happened before. I can't get it to switch back on.

I am in Ireland but cannot seem to get any response from Fitbit support on this. I've tried the Live chats and even joined twitter to see if i could get help with this.

Can someone please advise me on how I can fix this or is there any other way to live chat with support that I haven't tried?

Any help would be appreciated. I miss my watch 😞

Thank you.

HI @Trickynicky32 Probably best way to contact Fitbit Support directly is via the Fitbit App, click profile photo, Help & Support, Contact Customer Support.

It would seem that it has got water in it which has provoked a short circuit inside and may no longer be operational. It is a great watch so that is a shame.

If it is still under warranty, possibly 2 years depending on country law, and found faulty it may be better to take it to the shop for a new replacement, rather than accepting a refurbished replacement from Fitbit and dealing with sometimes drawn out return and shipping issues that may occur.

Hi Guy,

Thank you for your response, any advice is much appreciated.

I think it could still be under warranty. I never swim or shower with the watch on so if it is water it could only be from washing my hands.. I would be a bit disappointed if that was the issue because I am very conscious of it when I am washing my hands.

I work out a good bit so unless its perspiration from that getting into the watch?

I never even thought to use my App so I am currently logged on here now trying to get chatting to a rep.

Thanks for your help.

Really?

Can I ask do you know what caused it in the end or did you manage to get it fixed?

Thank you!

Just now seeing my watch has been syncing since Mar 3, today is Mar 7 & battery drains from FULL charge to ZERO in less than one day. This is not normal, battery normally lasts 3-4 days. Can't troubleshoot or make wi-fi changes to phone app while syncing.

Hi @mssportz215

I took @Guy_ advise and use the Fitbit app to make contact with them this morning and got speaking to a helpful representative who did a bit of troubleshooting with me.

Unfortunately, none of it worked but I have been offered a replacement. Thankfully.

I would definitely recommend trying to get in touch that way if you can. I hope you get it resolved.

I had a problem about four months ago where the watch would not sync. I talked to lie support and they gave up and sent me another watch. Now is it exhibiting the same issues you have. I get it charged put it on bang quits.  I got on chat with one of the representatives and he took the information and they had to talk about it. I got a response as much is said you’re SOL. They did not replace it they did not tell me how to fix it they just dumped me. So in frustration I now own an Apple Watch.

Hi @Wdillpic ,

Oh no really? That's disappointing!! I was also given the option of getting 50% a different watch as an alternative but I think I will have to stick with the free replacement under warranty.

I'm afraid I have Apple phobia. 😂😂 Even with their phones.

Thanks everyone for your help and for joining in on my post thus far. I appreciate all the information.😁
