I don't use stride length, always connected to my phone. I've been training for 5k and 10k runs, and the distance and pace calculations are off so much to be worthless. For instance, I just finished a 5k run I planned using Google maps before the run, yet my Versa 2 showed I ran almost 4 miles instead of 3.1.
When I got home I exported the TCX file for the run from the Fitbit app (which showed the correct trail on the map), converted to GPX and loaded into an online tool to map the run, and it showed the route perfectly and measured 4950 meters (close enough, just 1% off). There is no way the Fitbit math for the correct GPS coordinates should be off by so much (over 20% off). This is just unacceptable and if there isn't a fix (I've seen similar issues reported for over a year it seems), I guess I'll have to switch to a watch that can actually do fitness tracking.
Please help me like my Versa 2 again...
