Versa 2 has shut itself off

My versa 2 worked for a few hours this morning and then shut itself off around 12:30pm. I put it on the charger before I went to work hoping it would restart but it didn’t. I tried holding down the side button but it won’t turn on. I had it for almost a year and I’ve never had any problems with it before.

Hi there @Crutledge08, welcome to the Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 2 has shut itself off, I understand how you must be feeling. Thanks for the details provided in your post and for your time and efforts in trying to solve the issue prior to posting here.

Does your Versa 2 vibrates when you connect it to the charger? If it doesn't, please try the recommendations below:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Restart your Fitbit once again. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?

If the above steps don't work, at this point I recommend doing a factory reset (before doing so, make sure to remove your watch from your Fitbit account):

  1. Hold the back button for about 8 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears:
    1. Release the button briefly (for less than 2 seconds).
    2. Hold the button again until you feel a second, longer vibration, which indicates you initiated the factory reset.
    3. You can follow the steps to set up the device after that: How do I set up my Fitbit device?

Take into consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account, your applications, alarms, etc.

I'm looking forward to your response, keep me posted.

I tried all of these and it still isn’t turning on. It’s not doing anything. There’s no vibration, no symbol on the screen, nothing.

I am having the exact same problem. I’ve done all of those things as well and still nothing.

I'm having this same issue with the versa lite. The last 2 days it appears to die. It says my battery is dead even though it just charged, and then it seems to actually still track and vibrate but I can't get the screen on, even after trying to hold down the power button for 10+secs.

I contacted customer support and they are sending me a replacement because it is still under warranty. They said my last sync was at 82% on Monday morning around 1am. It stopped working 12 hours later.
