Hello
Was very excited to receive my new versa 2 having had Blaze then ionic with no problems was looking forward with the new version of the versa
However set it up stuck in on my left wrist noticed wasn't tracking heart beat active minutes or sleep noticed also tracking lights on back weren't working although if I pressed my finger on them worked fine
Tried everything to resolve I reset toggled off and on all settings then even factory reset...nothing
Then I wondered if maybe it was my tattoos both my arms are tattooed down to the wrist my left more heavily than the right so I switched put the versa on my right wrist and now seems to be working fine
I am baffled by this as my Blaze and Ionic worked perfectly on my left wrist
I'm posting this as it seems to be a recurring problem with the versa model on all the help forums I went on lots of users were encountering the same issue if you're wrist has tattoos then the versa seems to struggle
I'm delighted my new Fitbit now seems to be working but I would prefer to wear it on my left wrist
I also hope this post will help if someone is having the same issues

Versa 2 won't work on my tattoo either, I wear it on my wrist and there's no tattoo there...there was some troubleshooting steps that were mentioned to raise it up your arm higher if heart rate isn't working right or try a different arm, I saw a post and somebody mentioned using an epoxy sticker it's like a clear round sticker that you can put on the bottom of the watch and they said they had a lot of success over their tattoos when they implemented that fix.. why this is even an issue when Fitbit has been releasing products that have worked fine over tattoos and now their newest product does not is really baffling.

Thanks..yes I also saw the epoxy fix when I was first searching for answers I briefly considered it but I like to track my sleep and the stickers can interfere with that I really don't want to keep taking it off then removing the sticker each night also I think they would interfere with charging
So I'll just have to get used to having it on the opposite wrist
It is disappointing that Fitbit didn't address this issue before realising the new versa as it seemed this has been reported for quite awhile with older models
It's not even that all fitbits have this issue with tattoos as I said my Blaze and Ionic worked fine...why could they not just incorporate the same hardware on the new Versa?
Thanks for the reply

Hello
So have had my new Versa 2 for a week now and after a very shaky start (it wasn't tracking heart rate or active minutes) thanks to the great help I had from this community found out it was because of my tattoos on the wrist I was wearing it on I hadn't realised because my Blaze and Ionic had worked perfectly on that wrist so I did as suggested and switched wrists ...I do really love the look of the device and am slowly getting used to it being on my dominant wrist however although it's finally tracking HR and active minutes etc still not tracking sleep for example I know I slept 7 hrs but it just recorded 57 minutes and last night zero...I never had this problem with my other Fitbit devices. Yes sometimes I would get an incomplete reading because of how I slept or because I was restless
I have tried all the trouble shooting steps restarting unpairing etc I have gone into settings now and changed it from sensitive to normal and will see if that makes a difference
I have whilst looking for a solution that it seems to be a problem for quite a few other people..does anyone have a fix?
