Versa 2 not automatically syncing / Notifications issue

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

versa will sync with iPhone 8, but not on its own with all day sync turned on. This has been going on for weeks now and I’ve restarted the device and the phone numerous times. Messages and notifications are very sporadic. I’m ready to throw it in the river in my next run unless somebody has a solution. Thanks! 🙂

And horror of horrors, my fireworks for exceeding my step goals aren’t even happening. 🙂

Hi @Barbara349, welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for your post and for trying some troubleshooting steps before posting over here, I understand how frustrating this matter can be for you. In regards your All-day sync concern, let me share with you that in order to improve your experience with notifications, syncing, and firmware updates, we removed the option to turn off all-day sync from the Fitbit app. When your phone is near your Fitbit device with Bluetooth turned on, it periodically syncs with the Fitbit app to update your stats and download available firmware updates.

For the notifications issue, I recommend you to check: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device? to see that all the necessary requirements to receive notifications on your Fitbit are correctly configured and to try some troubleshooting steps. Lastly, for the goal celebration issue, can you please let me know when was the first time you experienced this issue and how many times since then?

Looking forward to your reply.

Good morning, Richard. Thank you for the reply.

My phone is nearly always with me, so there should be no disconnect due to proximity.

I can, and have to force a sync on the app. I have not changed any settings on the app or the phone, it just stopped on its own. I understand there may be a firmware update coming, perhaps there's been an issue created with that.

Here's a bit of summary of what's happening:

  • Some of my apps, like Agenda tells me that I haven't synced in 44 days.
  • The hourly notifications to move have been gone for several days at least, and I can't tell you the last time the fireworks showed - probably over the last month or so.
  • Text messages, SM notifications, and app noticifications that were all working just fine have now stopped. Interestingly, Instagram notifications and missed calls are there when I swipe down, but there was no notification.
  • The Barcode app won't allow the the barcode to show long enough for a scan, despite the screen timeout being set to 45s.

So, both the fitbit itself and the 3rd party apps not working as they all once did are making this a very frustrating experience. I did not hear that all day sync was gone, but it shouldn't matter for my circumstance anyway. My phone does give notifications of all the thing that should translate to Versa2, and they show up on all my other devices, including CarPlay.

If you think you can help, that would be great.

Cheers

Barbara

Final update

a full factory reset was required. A full reinstall of apps and settings. Updates etc to the Fitbit.
