Versa 2 not registering exercise and sleep correctly

These last few weeks my versa 2 has gone completely mad. 
not registering sleep properly 

no exercise registered 

when charged to 100% says it’s not 

I though it had died a death until I read lots of your comments 

what’s going on?? Help

Spoke with Google on the phone, agent had a prepared statement regarding that problem, saying it "should be resolved in a few weeks." (!!?)

Quite unbelievable, as both my wife and my Fitbit haven't tracked an exercise in a few weeks.
